Hi Haseeb ....another scape image , you seem to be in that mood . Looking at your postings , i should do that more often in the future .
I think it is a good shot , not as spectacular as the tiger shots , as the land scape is not that interesting as the jungle of India .
I have some minor reservations or suggestions ... overall image appears too dark for me , blacks quite strong , colors quite flat apart from the blue sky . and i am 50/50 on the framing , i think moving the camera to the left might have been the better choice , IMHO . All matter of taste , Haseeb .
The fact that they are standing on the dead tree makes this image worth ... for a second inspection .

    Dear Haseeb,

Thank you for sharing this cheetahscape, lovely pose from both males as they are looking around for something to chase...and fill those tummies

    Some observations/questions from me too:

#You might have forgotten to enable profile corrections in LR, can you verify? At first I thought the frame needed a tiny bit of CW rotation, but try lens corrections and see what happens?

#Sky looks good in terms of colour, I love it. But overall the image looks quite dark, or underexposed

#Is this FF? I find the composition a bit problematic...since you allowed for that tall branch of the log (the one pointing to the sky) and in doing so you sacrificed those smaller ones at the bottom.. too little FG?

    # tree behind log a bit off an issue - Andreas has a point, had you been able to move to the left it would have helped. Not always possible during a game drive, I know:)

So my overall impression is, too much going on in the FG ( log, trees, cheetahs), looks a bit crowded. But the cheetahs on the log do make it super special, wonderful sighting Haseeb

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Hi Haseeb, I like your thinking here and overall placement, personally I would not move. If you move left then the RH tree becomes an issue, however what I would have liked is more below, I find it too tight and not a lover of those end branches cut off. Overall it is dark and flat, watch your black shadows. Perhaps the blue is pushed a little, but I do like Botswana sky's albeit you may have added a CPL filter? The image also appears to be running down hill, a slight CW rotation helps, don't forget to use the electronic level in the view finder.

I agree it benefits from exposure lift but I also think a little more at the base would have been good to include the junction of the dead tree and the grass, I am not so sure that the top of the dead tree has to be completely in the frame so I could see losing some off the top.

Thank you everyone for your comments and suggestions , as always much appreciated.

Based on your suggestions here is a RP.

I am ok with the space at the bottom of the frame and especially the framing part as I had no option to move and the sight of the Cheetahs standing on the log and both scanning the savannah was a bit special. I guess we all see things differently. But definitely agree on the exposure part and flat tones .

Let me know what you make of this RP ?

    Haseeb.

Thank you for taking time to RP, Haseeb - I like this better, it has a "sunny" feel to it.

I feel a tad of CW rotation still needed, if you're inclined to spend a few more minutes on this

    Have a wonderful week-end,

    Kind regards,

Hi Haseeb RP is an improvement ....needs lens correction applied IMHO and canvas rotation .
Color and tone matter of taste , if you like it then it is ok .

Cheetahs on a log is always special Haseeb. Good discussion on the various aspects of the image and good learning. But yes a frame worth working! Well done Haseeb.
