    Default Oystercatcher in Flight

Another from my trip to the Outer Hebrides...20% cropped from the original image for comp. This trip was the first time I had done BIF handheld since shoulder surgery. I should have chosen slower birds, instead of speedy waders Anyway, I couldn't resist these Oystercatchers and also Redshank in flight, and, my shoulder is feeling good.

I'm no doctor, but the engineer in me says those shoulders are doing pretty darn good... You are killing it with these hard to get images... Love the light, over and under wing detail, HA and BG. Very glad to see your shoulder is doing sooooo good. Keep the jewels coming...

You are really nailing these OC flight shots!
Glad to hear your surgery has been so successful.
I love the BG grey, the wing position and the light.
I would desaturate the reds on the bill slightly.

Thanks Gail....Funny how you should say about the bill...I did desaturate, and I thought at the time, desaturate more? I should have...Thanks

William another killer IF of a hard to get IF bird, try to add 35% cyan to help the reds, a great trick from Artie.

Another winner! My only wish would be for the front wing to be fully sunlit, but man this is sweet overall. Nicely done.

Perfect flight pose in gorgeous light. Great exposure, and dark BG makes it pop. In my experience with these guys, in this kind of light the bill can really glow red hot. Looks fine to me.

Flawless flight capture, William. Beautiful light and nice wings down pose. Great detail as well. Good to hear your shoulder is healing quickly.
