Very eye catching image - well done! I like the pose and the colours and the blurred wing tips.
I would be tempted to lift the darkest areas just a little.
There is some noise but i do not find it objectionable.

Wonderful image and so, so sharp on the face. I did not know that they the head colored up so quickly. How are you so sure of the age?

Thanks Arthur, not sure of the age, I was looking this morning at the pond, the Woodie chicks are all ages from a lot
born this week to this one and all age between. He does appear older but was born this spring so can't be very old.

The blurred wing tips make this one for me. Gives a nice sense of motion. Great background as well.

Excellent wing position, and wingtip blur along with superior plumage detail on the head and body. I like to head position. Good job on the background. Really nice to be able to observe the lifecycle of these Wood Ducks

Well captured Dan. This is the kind of unique look that pops off your screen every once in a while during review when you've taken lots of well focused and exposed shots on fly-bys. The BG is a wonderful shade of foggy grey-brown and, as is often the case with woodies, the eye really takes centre stage.

Dan, sharp where it counts, unique wing position and enough blur to make it interesting IMO.
