I made this image in Fort De Soto, Florida last week.

This is one of my favorite images from the trip. I still haven't looked at all the images :-)

I do wish I had been a little to the left. I was on sun angle but the bird was moving to my left when I took this image.
I did not get chance to be right on sun angle when he jumped in the air.

    Nikon D850, 600 f/1+ 1.4x TCIII
    1/5000 sec; f/5.6; ISO 1250
    Manual; Matrix metering

    Post Processing:-

Little Crop to Level the Image
Nik Color Effect Pro 30-30 Filter
    Noise Reduction Neat Image
Slight burning on face of the bird

Let me know what your thoughts are on this image.

    Thanks
    Krishna

My favorite pose on Big Red.
Looks like it was quite bright.
I would reduce the exposure by 1/3 to 1/2 stop and add some saturation and some blacks with levels or selective coloring.
I am OK with the sun angle and I like the shadow of the bill on the wing.
I would crop in from LHS and bottom to center the bird.
This bird must be the most photographed bird in Florida! I never get tired of seeing images of him!

Great timing. Nice to see the bird above the water. Always fun to watch the drunken sailor routine. Agree about lowering the exposure.

Repost improed but still very bright. Harsh light is a bummer to work with.
