Not sure how you do it but this is one of the most difficult to photograph !!! They require sun for the feathers to light up but not too much Here the light was very
hard and you can see the shining dark feathers. Contrast is very high so you will end with areas of no detail others over exposed.
As presented would place the bird further back in the frame and maybe crop a little from the bottom. You did get a good head angle and pose. With the heavy grass its difficult to come up with a pleasing image. Sometimes when the light is not as harsh and the grass is greener you can get away with it !!!
