    Default Knysna Turaco in flight

I snapped this turaco many years back while on holiday in the Garden Route, in the southern Cape. We stayed in the Ebb and Flow caravan park, where the turacos had become very habituated to people, allowing close approach. I noticed that they followed a specific flight route from tree to tree, and I positioned myself to intercept a bird in flight against the green background of the mountain, it as it bursts from the canopy. About 50% crop. Tripod with Wimberley head.

You really nailed this beauty(big surprise). Love the splayed tail, under wing view and the color/detail. This frame just in time against lovely BG. TFS

Chris nice color palate on this one, good BG, but it seems the head and neck are a bit soft, maybe a tad more sharpening.

what a unique subject and captured in motion with a nice BG the bird is sharp but the details appear to have been compromised by crop a bit, 50% of the D3S is only 6 mega pixels which ins't much by today's standards and it shows when you view on a 4K screen, but it goes to show how much things have improved and how much the bar has been raised by new gear, This image is still a great demonstration of the skill of the photographer behind it
