Hi John, form an AHHHHH perspective, this has it, great Easter card pic.

The pose and HA for me is perfect, likewise you position, nice to have some 'mush' in the FG. Technically you were struggling and the Dynamic range was ebbing away, but you got it! No idea what a 'medium crop' is, but with the ISO too, you will loose IQ, however it's all about getting out there having fun and getting to know your kit. What I sent you is it helping???

Regarding the image, perhaps add a fraction of:
Texture +4, again be very careful with this, lots of folk will use/interpret this incorrectly and ramp it up, don't!!!!
    Clarity +17
    Dehaze -4

Overall the colour looks good, perhaps going a fraction cooler, to the left on the WB slider, but for me its the green, looks very yellow. Reducing a bit of Contrast say -18, adding a bit of Saturation, but in the HSL panel:

Hue - Green +20 (note you need to be very careful with this and personally I rarely use it, there are better sliders within LR, if required, but lets get you up & running first)
    Saturation - Yellow -30 Green -17
    Luminance - Green -10

Note the amounts are purely personal, you can set two what you feel, just trying to help/guide you.

Again, perhaps a smidgen more sharpening, but good to see you are bordering on caution.

Finally have you calibrated your monitor John, as you can take the best image ever, but if your monitor is not calibrated ie once a month you are not doing you or your images justice, this is a very important.

Keep them coming and keep the hard work up.

    TFS
    Steve

Awwwwwwww Saw your post this morning but from work and the monitor is very old, was looking forward to come home and look properly. Very nice image John, pose is fantastic and the cute factor is there, good POV, nicely composed too.

Would love to see what happens when you implement Steve's suggestions, I think the adjustments will add more depth to the image as well as detail on the subject. IQ looking good for Iso 8000 and a fair amount of crop

Very well done, one of your sweetest images to date, I am loving this one

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Thanks Steve and Gabriela. Steve the info has helped thanks again. This is cropped about 35% of the full frame image. I have never heard of texture. Is that a slider somewhere? The contrast is at -15 already maybe a touch more. The luminance in the hsl panel is -18 green,-11 yellow. The saturation is -13 green and -17 yellow. Yes the monitor i use is calibrated.

Great, I'm please John but just shout if you need more. Texture is 'Presence' panel along with Clarity & Dehaze.

Yes the monitor i use is calibrated.
Good, always calibrate it once a month, or set it to terming you and allow the monitor to warm up, give it a minimum of 30 mins before calibrating, never calibrate when your computer first starts up. Have cup of java whilst it does it's magic... also try to avoid if you can, lights on, or hitting the screen and have the back of the monitor facing any windows if possible.

This is taking your OP with those settings, but remember what you see will invariably be different to what I see, purely down to monitors and ambient light etc. I'm not trying to add anything from PS, just tweaks in LR but sadly this is a JPEG and not the Raw so there will be a difference because of the nature in the files.

Great pose. I love the grasses in Steve's repost -- most of your GREENs have too much YELLOW in them.

Is that a hole in its ear?

Hi John ... oooh what lovely shot .
I do agree a great easter card , well timed as all comes nicely together .Some minor technical " issues " that can be sealed with , if one like it .
Steve has shown a good direction ..... for a postcard it does need more Ooomph i think , or how Steve sometimes say .... Walt Disney .

I think one of your best from the content POV -
