    Taken near Lamington National Park near Brisbane in March.
    Canon 1 DX, 600mm and 1.4x , shot from car window.
    Cloudy, rainy day (again!)
    1/1000 @ 5.6 ISO 1600
    Nothing added or cloned.
    I wish for a nicer perch !

    Love the fluffy look, helps to minimize the perch issue! But otherwise a nice look at this guy. Glad you got some color in the wing despite the flat light!

    That is a pretty cool pigeon! Nice of it give you a good parallel pose for tip-to-tip sharpness (compared to the angled perch which goes in and out of dof). I love the crest and ruffled feathers. Good green BG too. The perch is what it is - can't always be too fussy when on vacation, although I know the feeling as I am way too fussy at times .

    Cool colorful interesting bird. Perch is fine for species like this.

    Very neat looking bird the low angle is spot on as well as the background. The perch is what it is.

    Have lots of these in my yard, nicely shot, particularly getting the wing colors.

    Hi Gail. I've seen many of these...the colours are amazing, and you've captured this one so well. Love the clarity, HA, FFD and that BG really contrasts nicely with the bird.

    Gail, I like everything about this but the perch, but sometimes you have to take what nature gives us. Nice shot.
