Another frame from the encounter with a lonesome Musk Ox, going closer is strictly controlled and there is I think, something like 100m comfort zone.

Thanks to those who posted or viewed on the last posting.

    Hello Steve,

What amazing colours, this looks like our Namaqualand in the spring! Beautiful scene well captured, you must be very pleased with this.

Super techs, well exposed and composed. Wonderful detail on the subject, I especially like that little glint in the eye.

Glad you did not get closer, this fellow looks more dangerous than a lion

Superb work, Steve - thank you so much for sharing!

    Warmest regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Hi Steve -- Mesmerising colours, just loved it ! Magnificent subject and magnificent settings.

Wasn't f/5.6 been sufficient here ? you could have gained on that ISO front as well. Whatever the reasons , the image is simply beautiful .

    TFS !

    HI Steve just gorgeous !!!!
A magnificent creature in lovely and so nice colourful setting !!!
You fieldwork paid off very well ...
Processing top notch and a pleasure to look at . Why such high SS for a static subject , you could have gone away with lower Iso ...and a better dynamic range !!

Because I wanted the long strands of hair to stay sharp Andreas and have no movement, even with a slight walk forward there would be movement and I'm HH.

Looks great amazing colours, 1/2000 sec - must have been pretty windy! Anyhow it looks well.
I appreciate I am the only one to suggest this but is it just a teeeny bit bright, could well be me I have just increased luminance slightly on my monitor.

Nice frame of this musk-ox. Really like all the color in the surrounding vegetation. Nice pose as well. Maybe a touch more on the left. Details look great.

Think it might be Jon, not sure how you may balance it for the new kit, have they given you any 'Guidelines', but also try Printing as that will be the ultimate litmus test.
