Now that the judging is complete for the IFC Pro Tour Contest I feel I can start posting some images shot during the event.

Here I had buried a wooden blind to water level next to a duckweed covered stock tank. I phtographed from this blind extensively for both excellent evening light shooting for birds, mammals and reptiles/amphibians and also at nighht for nocturmal animals. Using this blind I was able to photograph a number of nocturnal mammals like this raccoon..

    Robert,
This is awesome. I can't find any nit in this image except that the horizon line kind of dissects the image. However, the raccoon kind of nicely covers it up. I am imagining, how it would look if more of the shadow is captured in the image.

Just couple of days back, I was thinking of sending you a email to ask you about the contest. I am dying to see your other images. Please keep on flowing this amazing stuff.
    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi

Outstanding image Dale. Excellent sharpness and colors. I too have been waiting to see some of the images from the contest. When will the results be made public?

Good technique paid off with excellent results.

I tend to agree with Sabyasachi on the BG horizon line - but all in all I don't find that too distracting. I would suggest that cropping from the top to move it up in the frame could help.

This is great! I like the setting, flash work, pose and details. I might remove one of the catchlights in the raccoon's right eye. Thanks for sharing and good luck with the awards!

I really like this...........like peering into their night world. The horizon doesn't bother me..........but I wouldn't mind a bit of crop off top either. Very cool!

Wow, really cool. I didn't notice the horizon until pointed out. So, no prob here I guess. Really cool set-up and worth it for the capture.

What an amazing image Dale! Very well executed. I am only inclined to darken the green FG slighly and maybe the fur as well to give it more the idea of a night shot.

Thanks for your honesty in posting the how to's of your techniques. Integrity, honesty and forthrightness are sadly lacking in our world. When a photographer is forthcoming about his or her methods we all benefit. I may not do things technique wise as you did, but my respect for you just tripled because you made things clear up front. Thanks for your artistic perspective and nice image.

Absolutely first class, I think it is a really excellent shot, the detail and the lighting are out of this world.
