I had a nice delicate perch setup for this fella outside of the frame, to the right, and had just turned on the audio to get it on it...but it staged itself for a few seconds on this tree knot before flying over the perch and onto a tree much further to the right. When that happened and I saw what you see here I took down the setup as I had just photographed a scene much better than anticipated! The warbler stayed long enough on the knot that after a couple of frames where I had cut off the bottom part of it, I had the time to lower the camera and include it all in.

Nope, never gonna improve on this natural setup... Your manual exposures just leave my jaw on the floor... Love everything about this one and no nits here... TFS

What's knot to like? Perfect pose and exposure, sharp, with a neat setting.
As usual ...

not your typical warbler image you see. Pretty neat perch. Sounds like it was good you ditched your set up perch. Nice pose on the bird with nice detail.
Although the purchase fairly complex with respect to texture, the warbler colors are so different that it the bird pops right off the perch. Beautiful background to blend with the tree. Detail is excellent.
