    Excellent close crop with superb detail and light. I think you could cut a little from the top to decenter the bird.

    I have shot quite a few of these guys. Always fun,great close up and detail.Love that you got some sky color adds to the image. TFS

    Pose is really nice, as is the graduated color of the background.

    The cattail perch is a classic. The gradient in the background is nice as well. Like the vertical composition i would like to see more room on the right and left.

    Talk about an intense pose here! I love how the foot is a t the very top of the cattail (as your title implies). Instead of less above, I'd like more below and left. Cool as is though, an entertaining frame for sure.
