    Default Too much water!

Stork-billed Kingfisher had a big dive from a tall tree for his fish. There is way too much splashes in this shot but thought I'll just share anyway. Note the eye is still covered by a membrane which appears when the KF hits the water.

I think the splashes make the picture.
If this is a cropped shot, then I would like to place the kingfisher more to the top and left, so that more of the splash is in the picture and it will give an impression of the kingfisher coming out leaving behind a trail.

Looks good to me, the splash makes it more dynamic. Interesting to see the nictitating membrane closed.

Love it Jay !!! Normally the splashes detract for some reason but like it a lot here, maybe the intensity & density!!! Would work on the birds eye !!! Big Congrats !!!

I like as presented. Interesting that they'd protect their eyes when diving :)

Pretty wicked. Are these created at a set-up?

Hi Artie, no setup involved. Just patience in waiting by the regular spot where this kingfisher dives for his fish. :)

Thanks all for the kind comments.

I think there's not such thing as TOO much water in this shot, I love how dramatic it looks, although his eye shows a good detail about this bird's behavour, I would try to make it look normal :)
    Congrats!
