    Hi all,
Digging up some old files and thought I'd post this simple image of a cheetah from Masai Mara from my 2017 trip.

Sanjeev the cheetah looks to be well focused and sharp but I think it need to be bigger or smaller in the frame, to me it looks just a little "here's a shot of a cheetah". The black spots look a tad dense and I think I would try to get a little more light in the eyes. Sorry for the negative feedback but I think there is a better image there to be presented.

    Hello Sanjeev,

Love the eye contact here and framing works for me. It's a simple but effective image IMO, nice HA and POV, I like that bit of shadow too.

All I can suggest is to try reduce contrast a bit because subject appears a tad crunchy, especially face. And how about a tad of vibrance and saturation, just a tiny bit? The grass looks pale, I suppose you captured this in harsh light and maybe this is how it looked at the time, just thinking a bit more oomph won't hurt.

Agree with Jon above, if possible it would be nice to raise exposure on the eyes, but not to the point that it begins to look odd. IQ is good and subject sharp, techs look great, nicely exposed. SS 1/2500 - I gather you expected some action from the cheetah, have you got any more images from this sighting?

Thank you so much for sharing, let us have some more please! I am going to take another look at my cheetah posted earlier and see if I can improve it, been away at the week-end and looking for animals but no luck this time... so back to some older folders

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Hi Sanjeev .... well a tough one i think , even if being a Cheetah .
I think it would be great, if you would have been able to go down and shoot from the ground , complete different image !!!!
But i now not possible ....
Personally i think the IQ is not that great , no fine detail visible for my eyes , wondering why ....? Image appears crunchy and heavy in contrast/ blacks .... i would expect a high contrast image under the given lighting , but should be tempered a fraction in post . Just my thought .

The head turn is nice ....

I hope my critique does help that you overthink the way your processing in parts ....

    TFS Andreas

Hi Doc -- I too would agree with the above , especially with Andreas. The details are lacking and it looks high on contrast , though effectively it rightly represents the time of the day but it is robbing you of the finer details. Though the frame is simple the smaller in frame concept is not working here IMO. Sorry.

    TFS !

The light is what it is. But like the pose on the cheetah and that engaged look.
