Default Burrowing Owl at Last Light

We spent some time with another owl at a different location, until a local resident drove by and suggested we might want to check out another spot. Following his directions, we drove a few blocks and found this guy and his mate in a less cluttered setting. This was shot with literally two minutes of sunlight remaining before the sun dropped below the horizon. Cloned out his ankle bling, and the partially visible head of the mate sticking up beyond the sand mound. From Marco Island in March.

I swear I can feel this sunset. Sweet, Sweet light and great eye contact and BG. Might take some off the right side but beautiful as is. TFS

Very nice image. Clean looking for iso 2000. I guess you were hand holding, if not I probably would have dropped the iso and shutter speed.

Great capture, Bill. Beautiful light, and I like the cropping. Nice work in post.

Really nice color, quality of light, depth of field, and background. No nits here. A very well composed image.
