    Default Red-winged blackbird

    I made this image in Bear River Migratory Refuge, UT couple of weeks back.




    Nikon D500, 600 f/4 + 1.4x TCIII
    1/1600 sec; f/5.6; ISO 2000
    Manual; Matrix metering


    Post Processing:-
    Raw Processing using C1P
    2/3 Cropping
    Nik 25-25 Filter on the Bird at reduced opacity
    Sharpening for Presentation
    Dodging on so grass
    Cloned grass blades on top of the bird and left of bird.

    Love the composition, pose, perch, great control of DOF to get the creamy OOF grasses for great BG. Only wish for more details under that spread tail. Really beautiful as is though. TFS

    Exposure is nice on the Blackbird and a nice BG and setting.
    Next time take a step left so the perch clears the body...

    Superb color with excellent background. Very pleasing calling pose. Detail could be a little better. Could be an image quality issue with your extender. How much of an enlargement?

    A nice shot with slender perch, agree on avoiding the perch crossing body if possible. A bit more of fine detail on the bird would have taken this up further.

    Very minimal cropping. Just removed some canvas at the bottom to make this 2x3 crop

    Nice you caught the bird at the tippy top of the perch. Light looks nice. Detail on the bird is quite nice as well. Tis the season for these guys.
