During a recent trip to Cape Coral, Florida I captured this image of a Florida Burrowing Owl chick stretching it's wing. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

Joe, nice details and pose, good low angle, a bit busy but that's nature and natural environment.

Love the look and stretch Joe, also your POV and splash of few wildflowers giving a pop of color. I also like the details on the foot, well done.

Now that is a strech. Like the low angle and the overall setting. The raised foot looks sharper than the eye to me.

Nice low POV and wing stretch.
The face is not tack sharp unfortunately. It must be a DOF issue because your SS and aperture look good.

Outstanding pose! Looks like one of those superheroes wearing a cape. Composition and background work very well together. I do notice a little softness in the head area and wing plumage below the body but mostly towards the posterior aspect.

Love the soft light and the great wing stretch pose. Gail is right about the lack of sharp focus on the face and eyes. The far leg looks razor :L(

Thanks everyone for viewing and commenting, very much appreciated.

Not sure what happened to make the face soft. I knew the sharpening did not snap into place like it should have. The focus point was on the neck and upper chest just below the white feathers on the face, the bird move when stretching and I didn't catch up with it. The depth of field was just under five inches, so that should have been enough. I think the foot is sharper because of more contrast and harder edges. My guess would be not enough contrast on the feathers where the focus point was positioned. I know the focus was adjusted correctly because I checked it since heading south and have used it since coming back.
