Got this on a very slow day in SoCal. the deep blue ocean is the typical BG seen with these pelicans

Very nice image. I'm surprised it's sharp wing tip to wing tip at f5.6 as the bank isn't completely vertical.

Great frame. Love the details in the whites and the DOF sharpness. Gotta love that SoCal blue ocean. I used to think you California boys were jacking up the saturation too much until I saw it for myself last year!

Where's the raptors? Just kidding. Nice dorsal view of this pelican. Love that blue background. Nice and sharp. Would like to see more room in front and back. Details look great.

Thanks Jack DOF is not an issue for banking shots because the entire bird is parallel to the back of the camera
