    Hi all,

A turkey vulture taken locally. Tough to make these guys look good in photos, but they really are very interesting looking birds. Crop about 45% off, NR on bird and BG.

    Camera: Nikon D500
    Lens: 500mm f/4
    Specs: 1/2500 f/4 ISO 1,600

Thanks for looking and commenting on prior posts!

When I watch these soaring overhead, they are truly one of the most beautiful birds in the world. Great top view and look back with killer light and BG. TFS

This guy look like he "was ridden hard and put to bed wet".
Lovely BG and great head angle.
I might add a bit more punch to the bird with a bit of blacks to the neutrals.
    Very nice frame Alex,

Love the BG. Looks like like he/she has had a rough go of it recently judging by the feather condition.

The BG is a bit more colourful than on my recent high-key TV image. Perfect head angle. This fella is holding its wings up in a wide "V" that is typical of this species is it glides. Pretty cool image!

Great flight shot of this usually overlooked species. Good BG and head turn.

Very nice dorsal capture, Alex. It's not often we get a topside view of these birds in flight. Good detail and pastel quality of background.

I like it, Nice head turn, I would have liked a more extended wing position but head angle probably took precedent..

You nailed this one. Love the pose and that dorsal view. Background is excellent. Looks like you got a new lens.
