    Default white-throated sparrow

Another songbird in my yard and from my blind. This is one of my favorite Spring blooming trees, a Redbud. I planted this tree nearly five years ago and I placed a feeder for a few days nearby and then waited for a visitor. This sparrow is always a winter visitor and am perplexed as to why two of them remain. They usually travel North to breeding grounds or in Northern New England as a year round bird, so i question why they are still here...
Nearly full frame and a few drops of rain on his head along with the wetness of the branch.

I see why you like the Redbud and apparently the Sparrow agrees. Love the way you included the beautiful perch in the composition design for this canvas. Nice and sharp where it needs to be. I also like the glistening perch. That's some hide you got there... TFS

Beautiful bird, tree, and BG. The pink flowers really stand out nicely against the green BG. The bird's eye looks a little cloudy (I might darken the pupil and lighten the reflection of the sky in the eye). Also the tail feathers have a greenish haze over them (not sure if that is in the RAW file or if it happened during processing).

Love the perch in this one. Like the green and pink together. The bird is nice and sharp. Very nice frame.

Hi Doug, Thanks, RAW file for the greenish haze on the tail... I'll "look" into the eye suggestions!

Great branch that is, with excellent colours. The rain really made those even more vivid. Of course the sparrow just had to squish those flowers with its foot lol. I do wish it would have looked a bot more towards you, but not an image breaker by any means.

I've looked at this a few times.. It is very nice, the perch
is about as nice a songbird perch as you could get..
A bit better HA would be better, but minor.
I sort of want the branch coming our of the right hand corner comp wise but
    not really possible proportion wise..
Next time have it move up an inch or so.

That perch is wonderful Ann! I generally agree with the other comments, notable the almost perfect head angle and the greenish tail. Biggest issue for is the OOF character to the tail. I looks like an afterthought compared to the rest of the very sharp bird, unfortunately. But you gotta love the foot on the pink clump!

A lovely frame, Ann. Some good comments above. A few of our White-throats are still hanging around our feeders. I'm planting three Redbuds in the yard, so next year......

Great bird and love the perch.
Tail could be better but certainly not an image killer!

Beautiful capture, Ann. Great soft light and excellent pose. I like that his left foot is grasping the cluster of buds. The wet perch with buds are nice and defined setting it off from the background. Well done. When I first saw this and read what type of tree it is, I immediately wrote it down and researched local nurseries that might have them. I see Bill is planting three.
