Default Return to the kill (II)

One last opportunity perhaps to participate in this month's animalscape theme.

    4.29pm
A male leopard returns to his prized baby Zebra kill he made just a few hours earlier.
Waiting patiently and knowing he would return after venturing down to drink, we positioned our vehicle to take advantage of this iconic and beautiful shaped Rock Fig in anticipation he would ascend at this position.

    1400px wide.

I leave for a 3 week trip to Ecuador- Galapagos/Amazon tomorrow, so until then!

    Hello Marc,

Hope I'm not too late here, thought I'd catch you before you departed...Just wanted to thank you from the heart for all those lovely Theme images you've shared over time Not one month passed without your contribution (well, unless you were away for a lengthy period of time) Don't know how you did it... I suppose this is partly because you are " out there in the wilderness " a lot, but also because you really enjoyed the challenge and had fun capturing those images!

Regarding this frame, I think it is magic. I like the inclusion of environment and especially the beautiful fig tree - this is precisely the kind of setting one is most likely to find a leopard in. Super timing and "climbing" pose from the subject, love those front limbs in the air. My only wish is that you had a tiny bit more at the bottom and less at the top, but you might have had your reasons for composing this way.

I really enjoyed viewing. And wishing you a safe trip and wonderful sightings, looking forward to your images upon return!

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Hi Marc -- so brilliantly executed, the thought process behind the image is wonderful. Waiting in anticipation for that moment and ultimately getting that frame is top notch stuff. Loved the environment and the tree is indeed iconic .Superbly done. TFS !

All the best for your trip.

Like the story this image tells. The leopard is on a perfect spot of the tree. Nice the clouds have some detail to them.
