Taken on same cloudy, dull day as the previous KF but the sun was trying to shine through as I took this.
70%FF. I love the little pebble but appreciate that some would want it evicted from the frame!

Sweet as all get out with a perfect feeding pose and lots of neat sand. If I were in love with the pebble I would move it to a spot in front of the bird ... As is, it drags the eye away from the best stuff. Do you have room in front?

    with love, artie

Nice low angle and I would keep the stone...
I have only seen this species in Hawaii, but they are more "golden" colored than this.
It may be the flat light in this one.
    Details are very nice.

Perfect feeding pose with wonderful details and a softer than soft BG. I love it... Like the pebble too. TFS

I thought I would try a version with Artie and Dan's suggestion. Since I was moving the pebble I cloned out that little brown blob that was in the sand to the left of the rock.
Added +17 of vibrance to bird.
It offers a good option to the OP.

I love the golden spangles on these guys. I don't think I've seen one with such a golden face. Funny, when I saw the OP I had the same thought -- the pebble should be on the right. Now that I see the RP I like it either way. A lovely frame. Having moved the pebble I wonder if a little off the left would be in order.

Beautiful frame, and the first thing I thought of (before I read your intro) was that having the pebble there was a real shame!

Fantastic low level with such a clean beach and BG and having that little bit of action really takes it up a notch

Love the soft colors, makes this plover feeding a very serene image. I do like the pebble in front. Lovely POV w a clean beach and BG, makes this a pleasure to view. Well done!

Lovely image, Gail. I have looked several times at the image trying to decide on the stone. I can see why you like it but it does draw my eye away from the bird. Your call, if you like it leave it. Thank you for sharing.

I can see why it's called a golden plover. The low angle is spot on. Like the soft light. Brings out the details quite nicely. I don't mind the pebble.
