    To think those stalks of twisted feathers in the process of unfurling were used by this beauties ancestors (i.e. Dinosaurs) to produce scales. At this stage they look like baby dinosaurs. There are some to produce feathers and others to produce down. Birds are amazing...

    As always comments, suggestions and critiques very welcome.

    Probably one of my favorites of your nest images. Like the pose light and the environment here. Details look nice and the bird is nice and sharp.

    David:

    Hard to believe such a scraggly looking chick can turn into an elegant adult, but you captured him very well, with pretty clean view, well exposed.

    I might have considered a larger f/stop, to soften the background just a bit and to allow a lower ISO, but can't argue with the results.
