A Marbled Godwit taken a short time after the recent reddish Egret I posted. Maybe a little large in frame but I was lying i the water and the camera was a little tilted, so I had to rotate a bit and this is as loose as I can go without adding canvas

    Mike:

Great point of view, size in frame works for me. Soft background, subtle drop on bill tip.

I might consider softening the dark area just in front of the head just a bit with the clone stamp.

    Cheers

Beautiful pose, POV, water & BG. Sometimes I remove the second catchlight even though it's perfectly natural; sometimes I don't.

Love the look, drop at the end of the beak and the colors, SH, POV. I agree softening the diagonal black/green transition would be worth a visit and i'd suggest more room below for the legs and feet if you want to add canvas but i understand this is all you have. Looks like you had a wonderful trip?

Looks spot on. Nice low angle, pose and light here. Some might ask for more room below but looks fine to me.

    Great angle, looking up....
It is a bit cut off at the bottom, but I don't add canvas either.
    Nice enough as is..

Excellent capture, Mike. Nice detail and I especially like the drop of water at the end of the beak. Like the background very much.

Late to the party. Where? It is so nice and the balance is right on so I will not complain about the missing virtual feet ...

    Classic Fort DeSoto!
Great HA and light. Love the water droplet at the tip of the bill.
A bit more room below would be nice but still lovely as presented,
    Gail
