A very pale individual; maybe a 2nd year bird? I normally wouldn't put the bird in the center of the frame but I didn't want to crop the Red Mangrove leaf cluster catching nice light on the left. Taken in late afternoon fading light, from a skiff among the Ten Thousand Islands of Florida's Gulf Coast.

This is very nice Bill and I agree with your choice of comp. Do you have a sliver more on the bottom. That toe is getting close but certainly fine as presented.
I might bump up the exposure by 1/2.
Just the right amount of environment without being obtrusive.
The image has a lovely "soft" feel to it,

Not normally a fan of centered birds but I fully understand your thinking here and I agree, it wold have been a shame to have cut off the vegetation. I like some environment in the shot so the BG works well for me and the head turn is nice
Young is sweet here! I like the suggestion of increased exposure, adding room for the foot, and also enjoying your placement of the rosie in habitat and not chopping those mangrove leaves! Well done.
With the blue lores, this bird is surely less than a year old. Wish for more room in front though I get your compositional decision. In cases like this you can lock focus and pan right for source material for a stitched pano ...
