I found this male forest kingfisher hunting close to the road I was driving, as I was shooting it started to rain, and he turned around and fluffed up is feathers as if to show off. Really just taking advantage of the shower to groom.

Hi Greg. Lovely shot of this colourful Kingfisher...I really like the pose, composition, perch, HA, FFD and BG. If this was mine I'd be tempted to use the spot healing tool in Photoshop to erase the raindrops (as they look similar to sensor dust spots). I'd also clone out the webs on the far left. Cheers.

Nice one Greg! I dipped on seeing this kingfisher.
I love the lookback and the fluffed up feathers. The perch is typical FNQ including the spider web. My gosh, there are a lot of spider webs in the rainforest!!!
Rain drop son KF look nice. Nice clean BG.
This is purely a personal preference issue but I like my raindrops a bit sharper.
All in all , a very nice image,
    Gail

Beautiful capture, Greg. Like the angle and head turn, the raindrops collecting on the feathers also. Nice rich gray background.

Beautiful bird photographed at a nice angle and with good detail. If you get another chance in the rain it might be worth experimenting a bit with a slower shutter speed to really show off the raindrops

Always love a bird in the rain. Love the colors on this bird. Nice pose and perch. The darker background shows the rain off well.

Thanks all for the comments. It seems with rain there are different preferences with shutter speed... One thing I realized after posting was I should probably cloned out the raindrops on the edge of the frame (bottom and right). With Kingfishers I tend to like look-back poses, as the backs are generally more colorful than the breast.
