Very nice.
Great BG and exposure looks good.
Nice and sharp.
Why F 3.2 and an ISO of 400?
Gail
Nicely done Dan. I like the incoming pose and the details look good to me. I might try desaturating the green on the right just a tad.
Love the duck. Great pose. The green does take the eye away from the subject somewhat, so maybe some desat would be worth a try. (If mine, I might have tried an alternate view, cloning out the green altogether, but that's not everyone's style or ethic.)
Love the pose and the BG is very complimentary. I agree on somehow toning down the bright green even though I like it. TFS
Thanks for the comments.
Gail,
I am shooting auto iso for BIF at my duck pond due to always
changing BG.
In this sequence I had 7 sharp shots that varied from iso400 to iso1600.
So I have found with the D500 that the auto iso works well and I get
a lot more keepers.
f3.2 works well most of the time with the bare 300. (the DOF is just what I want in this shot).

Beautiful pose! We get a great view of the underwing. I wish for a bit more detail on the feet since you can see them so well in this example. Also, the frame feels cold to me. Female woodie should be brown but this bird seems grayed. There is also a blue cast to the underwing and the face. Maybe warm to yellow a touch and/or desat the blue channel.
Very nice pose on the duck. Like the background with the green on the right. Details are very nice.
sweet pose! love the stretched wings, if mine I'd clone out all of the green stuff should be easy in this case, also see a slight blue cast the pose is super
