Went to a wildlife area this afternoon in hopes of catching some Avocets or Stilts mating with no luck, but this little swallow posed for a couple of shots.

    Thanks for looking.

As hard as it is to even catch these beauties perched, you used all your luck for this day to catch this beauty on a clear perch. Looks well worth it. Love the composition, BG, pose, details and colors. TFS

Nice simple composition, perfect background. Colors, detail and perch work well together. Most often when I see swallows they are flying ninety miles an hour so a pleasure to see one up close. Thank you for sharing, Tim.

    Tim:
I like the perch, pose, head angle.

A bit of subtle noise in the bg, and I don't find the birds head really sharp. The iridescence can certainly effect the perception of sharpness.

    Cheers

Classic tree swallow pose. Like the curved perch. Excellent background here.

Love the colours here. The crop you chose looks good to me. Lovely frame and very pleasing to the eye.

Lovely BG and perch here. I like the composition too. I'd add a bit more sharpening to the head. TFS

I agree with Randy. I love the head angled in the same direction as the perch.
