    I captured this image at Ft. Desoto County Park in Pinellas County, Florida. Comments and critique welcomed and appreciated. Thank you for viewing.

    Nikon D500
    Nikon 80-400mm F/4.5-5.6 VRII AF-S ED image captured at 400mm
    1/2000 F/5.6 Matrix Metering EV 0 ISO 400 Auto 1 WB, camera supported by a monopod
    Post processed in Lightroom Classic CC, Photoshop CC 2019 and Neat Image for noise reduction
    Cropped for composition and presentation

    Whaaaat,
    I'd be crushed not to have iconic Big Red at least once show for me at DeSoto. But elesewhere was the pace to be Joe, love the pop up flight and the sharpness here. What AF pattern did you use for this image. Love it!

    This really looks like the bird jumped straight up out of the water. Nice and sharp with an interesting pose.

    Hi Ann, thank you for viewing and commenting. The AF mode I used was Nikon's Group. I uses a central autofocus point and four around it providing a larger autofocus area, also it focuses on whatever is closest to the camera under the group of autofocus points.
