Perched up Shorty
One from February when we had some good sightings along the Wirral coast. This one sat for about 10 mins whilst assorted photographers scrambled to the location. Artie would have had a heart attack watching people work off sun angle!
Extra branch removed bottom right and a little eye work

Lovely image Mike!
The direct eye contact is stunning and the yellow eyes really pop. Very well exposed, nice light angle and good details. I do think the face seems very sharp but the rest of the bird could need some more sharpening.
I also think the perch is very good looking and the act that you can see the claws is quite cool. I different background than the sky would have taken this to the next level but I think the color palette works nicely as is.

Great looking bird, no wonder people scramble to these types of sightings. Sharp on the face, good exposure. A couple of suggestions/comments: You could try a version with a warmer WB just for kicks. I would have pointed my lens down a tad more, and as a personal preference I would have preferred the pupils looking down more (to have some yellow iris above as well. LOL at the Artie comment

Whats not to like? Nice eye contact, and nice IQ.
I also think it could go warmer.

Face and perch look great.
I also like the color of the sky.
I wonder why the body feathers area bit soft? You had lots of SS and enough DOF I think. Might sharpen that area a bit more.
Another vote for a bit warmer and I might punch up the neutrals in selective color.
Very nice,
Gail

Beautiful pose and perch. Agree with the comments about taking the WB a touch warmer. Exposure and details look nice, but a tad more sharpening wouldn't hurt either. TFS

Mike, Great eye contact and facial details, nice perch, wish the BG was different but those things can't be helped. Very nice.
