Simply sublime, Dan. Even the head against the light under wing works. Colors and details off the charts. Congrats... TFS

Nice one. I normally like wings all the way up or down, but this works well IMO. Good exposure and details. If you have a just bit more room behind that would be great, feels just slightly cramped. Great colors. TFS

Very nice back ground and nice wing position.

I will add more canvas to the left.

    Everything else looks good.

I have more room, here is the untouched RAW file.
I probably did not need to crop at all.
I stand on a small footbridge and they fly by this close. 300mm.
    They are fast....

Much better frame. You certainly have these worked out, nicely done again.

No issues with me with the crop, must be great to get them flying so close to you. Not the classic wing position, but I think it works as its interesting with the head peeking through

    Lovely shot Dan!

Firstly I think the comp in the first post works well but I would add just a tiny bit allround.
The green background is very good and complimenting to the colors of the bird. Seems like it was quite nice and soft light too. I think you would have needed a bit more shutter speed to completely freeze the action. The small wing blur is a good way to give the image motion though.
A wing stroke fully down or up would have been better for me but I think this works well. Face looks spot on. Top of the bill seems blown.

I love the original crop and the unique pose with a great look at the sharp face.
