Default Crandon Gardens IR - For Fabs

Fabs' pic of Crandon Gardens reminded me that this place is perfect for IR so I went out this afternoon for a few hours.

IR is a different child altogether. For example, the foreground was not in shadow; it simply was not getting as much IR waves as say the background.

Strange day today anyway. The african dust created a haze and quasi softbox effect towards later in the afternoon.

    This shot was taken

    20d + 10-22 @ 10mm
    f/16
    1/13
    ISO 200
    tripod
    manual mode

processed in Lightroom and CS 3.

    Mike,
I love this image. Something about that swing framing that lone tree in the distance.
WOW! I could sit here and stare at this one all day. Stunning.

My favorite place in the garden. It looks delightful, Mike, glad you enjoyed the garden. Did you get to see the baby crane???

Great framing and composition Mike. Wish I knew you were going, instead I traked all the way to Anhinga!!!!
I like your idea about an ir outing, maybe we can talk to Fabs about it. What do you think?
    Regards,

    Regards,
Oscar, I decided to go after seeing Fab's image. The skies looked great but then the African dust rolled in and killed my skies.

Beautiful image Michael. My one little suggestion would be to remove that small white spot below the black swing. Perfect composition and beautiful DOF - you all are really winning me over to IR photography.
