Nice light and head angle. Great job separating the fine head feathers from the BG. I'm having trouble figuring out the dark spot between breast skin and malar area.

Yeah Bill, I had to study this for a while too. My joke title not withstanding, that bare skin is on the upper neck not the chest and the dark area is just more shaded BG between the curve of the neck and the head. That's if I understand your question correctly. Thanks for looking and comments.

For such and elegant bird when mature, it sure starts out a bit scruffy!
Very sharp, nice job on the whites. Did well with the foliage to get such a clean shot at him.
