You continue to kill it with these beauties. Love the low angle, SH, EXP patterns and colors in the plumage. You are right about that snow. TFS

    Kevin:

Snow makes such a nice fill reflector. Good texture in the snow as well. Good angle in the frame, interesting pose. Well exposed.
I might have considered a lower ISO, since you don't need this type of shutter speed for this pose ( I wouldn't think!)

    Cheers

You are right about the Iso Randy. But never know when they will jump right up and fight,so need the faster shutter. This bird is actually dueling with another grouse. They were to close and cut off the other bird out of the frame. Thanks for the comment .

Beautiful in every way. Love the snow and that the bird is angled slightly toward us.

Yes, I love that about snow as well. Once it is all melted away there is often lots of ugly debris in the way of otherwise nice opportunities (and even lower angles needed to "hide" those). I love this perspective you got here, not too high, and just enough to give the texture of the snow some attention. Of course the main subject gets even more of the attention, and rightly so...it looks great!
