Dug this one up from the archives as well. Taken many years ago from a boat on the Okavango River in Botswana. Getting them in the act of skimming is pretty tricky, as they only do so for a few seconds at a time. I was fortunate to get a good angle on this one as it skimmed right past the boat. About 50% crop. Processed in LR,PS and Neat Image.

This is rather beautiful. I love the tip of the upper mandible just barely touching the water. Nice vivid colours.

Terrific, action, wing position and clear eye, along with the skimming trail, well done.

Lighting and action are outstanding, and I think the graded BG is nice as well. Detail on the bird is very good. If you have the resolution on the bird, I might crop in from the bottom a bit to get a bit more detail on the bird. But that's me and I favor tighter over looser....

Like the colors in the shot.

I hope to photograph skimmers in my upcoming trip to Nickerson Beach NY

Crop looks good. I would have taken more at the bottom and add more at the top.

Very nice. Really like the color in the water on this one. Skimming pose is great as well.
