    Killer frame Joe.

I just don't like the amount of contrast & black LR puts in behind the scenes, address that and the blue in the subject and it just makes for a stonking image, you must be well chuffed with this.

Hi Joe, personally I feel that it's a greater improvement, as the detail you captured is now coming through, just watch the sharpening in the HL's.

Wonderful view of the cricket, and great head turn. Repost is better. I might have been tempted to do a little eye doctor work.

Pretty cool scene, those mole crickets are something else. I do wish for more of a profile view of the bird's body, and a better light angle, but you were obviously not in a position to freely roam for a better angle on these. Good details, BG.

Great frame. Love the mole cricket and the barbed wire. Killer background as well. Nice one.

Dan is correct on light angle...

From above, I just don't like the amount of contrast & black LR puts in behind the scenes.

Not from LR, from sidelight :(

Agree with both your and Dan, take a look at my previous post of the Scissor-tailed Flycatcher. I was shooting out the car window so not able to move much. I only posted this one because it had the cricket.

Artie, it's from both not just sidelight. Currently LR adds both Contrast and Black behind the scenes as soon as you open an image, compounded by these stupid filters they have added. Also what is misleading is the Histogram within LR, it does not reflect the cameras histogram either.

Hi Joe, thanks for the file and yes, the strong HL's are from PP.

Looking at the file I personally would have gone 1/1600, f/8 -0.3EV not -7.EV, however you have AF fine tune set to +4 any particular reason?
