The dark BG is lovely, and the layer feathers are fantastic. Sharpness is almost there. However, the eye is a bit soft (probably result of 2X), and there is some very odd blue artifact around the head plumes.

The dark backgound with the bird in direct sun is great. Like the pose. Wish to see more of the eye.

When you work on preening images try to get the plane of the bird's face perfectly parallel to the back of the camera ...
Lighting is dramatic.
