Hi John, envious of you getting to see Bears, as I just love them!

I like the way the curious cub is looking cautiously around, what was he/she looking at? I don't mind the crop as presented, but an alternative tighter one I think can also work giving the cub more presence. In addition, I quite like the 'saturated' look, perhaps bit heavy, but the darks in the fur are really masking the finer detail. If possible, a slight step to the right so the claws were clearly visible would have been nice. As you now have PS I'm not sure if you are using LR or PS to create your web image, but a bit more sharpening to the cub wouldn't hurt, although I not sure if the original is sharp? If you are using PS and Save for Web, you must sharpen prior to Save for Web, NEVER after.

Hi John -- Loved the pose and I like the crop in Steve's version, even slight crop tighter might work. The light is a bit strong and I feel reducing the contrast brings out more details. Steve's RP looks quite nice with a definite improvement in quality.

I liked the image though .

    TFS !

    Hello John,

I think your little bear is super cute and that mischievous look in his eyes is priceless - very well seen and captured!

Light seems a bit harsh but very well handled. Those rich colours make the frame appear slightly saturated - works for me, but having looked at Steve's RP I think it's a good idea to try reveal a bit more detail on the subject. I would also reduce the brightness a tad on the lichen (perhaps it was brought about sharpening, not sure).

Regarding composition, I like Steve's square crop but if you wish to retain more of the vegetation ( it is so pretty, with all those berries) you could keep the same format but go tighter.

Love the expression from the bear. Techs look great. I truly enjoyed viewing this image, many thanks for sharing

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Super image John, I am very envious you appear to have a glut of amazing animals at your disposal!. I like the image as is but if I was to suggest anything perhaps lower the contrast a tad to make the fur a tad less dense and the lichens not quite so bright.

Hi John lucky are with your Black Bears !!!
Nice one in first place , i do like the saturated colors but think the overall image is quite dark .
I think Steve´s RP is a good alternative and you might try to come close ...for me detail and a slightly tighter view , for sure a matter of taste .

    TFS Andreas
