Another capture from configuring the EOS 5DIV. Would have liked the eye to have been central, but this subject was closely watching Mum & Dad.

Thanks to those who posted or viewed on the last posting.

Just about spot on, details and colours look very good indeed, I actually like the eye looking down the bill, I think it is added interest as opposed to a distraction. The DOF is just about perfect, great shot.
The only very minor thing for me is the absolutely bland background - nothing "wrong" but for my personal taste I would like just a tiny hint of something.

    Cheers Jon.

We like 'bland' (a nondescript BKG ) because nothing conflicts with the subject, you just see the head & bill so I had to choose my moment when it was against the reeds and parallel to the sensor. The normal BKG is busy (see email) and I just didn't like it as it was also dark too. I see think you loose something (not much) in the upload compared to the actual file.

Very nice. I did not know that they had tame cranes es in Canada ...I'd vote for a fractional head turn toward us and a bit more room in front of the bird.

    with love, artie

Looks great in terms of detail. But it is quite tight compared to other frames of yours. Killer background.

Artie what would be the advantage, just interested.

ut it is quite tight compared to other frames of yours.
Just the way it worked out John, but for once, to extend the BKG isn't problem.

Details and exposure are great, but he's really tight in the frame. Would have been nice if he was angle towards you a bit more.
