H John, a nice look at the squirrel with alert pose. Good details and colours. The OOF branch in front of the tail is unfortunate but not a deal breaker. What was the ISO ?

Hi John, very good for ISO5000, with a good balance of colour and detail.

The 'perch' is less than idea, (rather ugly sadly) especially with a OOF branch coming out towards the viewer. Like the bushy tail, but over here, this Eastern Grey is considered vermin. The branches to the lower right and 'highlights' can be removed to add a more pleasant look and having a darker background helps separate the subject much better. Just addressing some of the Blacks & Contrast will bring out the finer detail better. Also loosing some off the top doesn't hurt I feel.

    Hello John,

Lovely pose from this cute little squirrel and I like the hesitant look with the little paw up She seems quite comfortable there yet aware of you at the same time.

Nice framing and colours look great, BG superb in terms of colour but needs a little clean-up Not too fond of the protruding branch but nothing you could do about it, such is Nature. If this was mine I would remove the grasses in the lower left corner and stick in the lower R corner - it just makes for a cleaner frame with more focus on the subject and no distracting elements.

I find the subject in Steve's RP to be a tad sharper and with more definition. F8 really works here John, good thinking on DoF. Overall a lovely image I enjoyed viewing, nice to see something different from you!

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea
