    Default shake it off...

Royal tern doing a twisty shake after a bathing session. Gail B and i spent several hours in the water with the Royals, Laughing Gulls, and a lone Caspian on a sandbar in SW FL last month. Great fun as we would track them at take-off after a splash bath and hope we could nail one when the shake-off happened. This was taken during the golden hour and I chose to leave the whites with a warm cast to them.

Love this. The BG really shows off both the subject and all those water drops. Worth the wait and prep to get this. Perfect EXP, SH and details. Glad you kept the warm colors in those whites. TFS

I love everything about this except the shadow. The bird looks great, the whites look perfect and how they should in warm light, the background is amazing and I love the bright water drops. But that shadow is far from ideal. Any other ones in the burst that don't have the shadow?

Absolutely superb I like everything it looks fantastic. I love the exposure and the tones - wouldn't change a single thing. You must be delighted with this, I certainly would be.

Tern antics are really cool to capture, but this is really fantastic. So good.

Hi Ann, lovely image. I am with Isaac, like everything about the image except the shadow. Thank you for sharing.

P.S. Perfect timing to capture the shake.

Not much more to add...I love it, but the first thing I noticed was the shadow, and so I must agree with Joseph and Isaac here.

nice dynamic pose, I like the warm tones but it is a bit too red on my screen. I also wish the shadow wasn't there.
