Taken recently from a bridge overlooking one of the tributaries to Jordan Lake here in North Carolina. The bird made several passes but kept on going without a catch. The lighting and closeness let me catch some nice detail. Minor editing.

Nice to see one so close. However, the mostly overhead shooting angle and resultant shadows on the underwings are problematic. The bird is also really close to the top of the frame, but I'm not sure if you have the room to move him down.

To be completely honest there are some serious problems with the shot and the editing. The shooting angle, placement of the bird and the deep shadows are the main problems. Nice with the sun on the head though and to get a sharp shot of this bird in flight!
Regarding the editing it seems to be a dark halo around the bird (maybe from some shadow and highlight adjustment). It also seems like you wiped out much of the feather details by applting noise reduction to the bird as it seems very smooth.

Always love seeing bald eagles. Not ideal but still an okay photo.

Hi Dave. Great to capture this Eagle, but I prefer the original...this processing seems way overdone to me. I agree with Ivan's critique.
