Very nice Jim. Great head angle, great wing position and nice details. Man these birds are close to you. Are they fed there? Do they just pass by that close often? You should run some workshops there or something.
Nothing to add really - perfect frame of an attractive bird. They must be pretty close to shoot them at 350mm!
You've certainly nailed that one Jim, great wing position, flight angle and details are superb - love the droplets on the belly
Mike
Whoa, thats very pretty! IQ, water droplets, all works well here!
Another nice ducks flight shot.
Really nice Jim. For all the reasons mentioned, pose, angle in frame, clarity, all good! I agree that it is unusual to get such a close pass for this duck, nice job!

Getting Better all the time Jim...Love the flight pose and detail on this one. Make hay whilst the sun shines I bet you've filled a few cards up on these beauties.

I think it could use a bit more contrast..
350mm? Are you on some kind of flyway or something?
Just great shots....

Thanks everyone for the kind comments. The ducks at this location are plentiful. The conditions have to be right for them to be close. The lake has to be frozen and this spot is where the lake meets the river. Around the end of March there is a run of fish and the ducks are diving all over the place within 50ft of you. They fly by near the shore if the conditions are right and you can shoot them non-stop. The only drawback is you can't shoot from a lower position or in early morning.
