Default Six Weeks old and Pushing...

This Sandhill Crane was born six weeks ago at Crandon Garden. The nest we were watching ended up being infertile and we missed this one way in the back. Almost as tall as the parents.
Sorry about the harsh light, but we went there for Infrared images, and were pleasantly surprised by Pippy Long Legs here, couldn't resist :o:D

Hard to imagine this bird is only six weeks old. At what age do they start flying?

    Hi Fabs,
Even though you mention harsh light......it looks pretty good on my laptop. Love the strut!....and find the Pipi Long Legs comment a perfect match. I might be tempted to remove some of the BG stuff above the back a bit distracting but love the difference between adult and juvi.

Definitely walking tall and very proud. Love this capture Fab of Pippy long legs. I sure am glad this one survived.

Beautiful capture Fabs. I laughed at the pippy long legs comment. Very funny and very fitting for this bird.
The lighting isn't a big issue here as far as I can tell. I love the bg too.
    Nice image all around.

It looks like she's got some old fashioned bloomers on those long legs! I agree to clone out some of the BG stuff in the water; otherwise, wonderful image Fabs.

Fabs, they are just about the cutest babies I know!!! This one is sure strutting its stuff!! You got a great BG. The only time I have seen babies are in the neighborhoods with sidewalks and houses all around.
