    Thanks to everyone for commenting on my previous post. This was day was the only one of two that I can ever recall when I had light and the owls at close distance. I used the 5D IV as opposed to 1DX, I must admit the AF performance isn't so very different. The camera seemed to grab a hold on focus and just lose it despite focus bumping, the main issue was the background in most cases having a similar tonal range to the subject. The gamble paid off I got a decent sized file, I won't hesitate to use the 5D in good light, - lower light levels I will stay with the 1DX - better ISO performance - significantly less noise.

    Nice view of this owl. Like the background, looks like a painting. The details are nice.

    Judging by the near wing, this is the same bird I shot - I'm guessing it was the previous day though with you using the 5d4. Nice wing position, looks a little yellow to my eyes, and I'd be tempted to get rid of the long stalk on the right thats going towards the owl.
