A real head turner...
One for those who wanted a head turn after the last frame! I posted the other one as I preferred the wing position and the light, so it'll be interesting to see if the stare towards the camera can over-ride the deficiencies.
I was actually on the phone to a friend as this one gave us a pass, telling him he needed to be a few hundred yards further up the track, so I was fortunate the focus held as I missed with the AF point. As such I had to add a little extra canvas to the top of the frame. To add to things as I picked the camera up I must have rolled the front dial so the shot was 1 stop underexposed - recovered in PP

Beautiful Shot. Nice light, Head Turn. Wish for Better wing position but still this works very well as it is.

Nice one Mike, I like both but agree I with you - prefer the former. Just maybe have a look at reducing the contrast a little.
It's a bit late now to mention it but I make good use of the "Lock" switch when I know the subject is going to be in comparatively similar backgrounds.

Sure is nice with more face showing Mike, way to go. Agree wing position is better previously, however, with a BG like this and closeness, its a keeper!

Eye contact is very nice... IQ as mentioned suffers a bit.
Would still love to have this.

Head turn for sure here. I like the background. Love those eyes on the owl.
