I've been giving myself some briefs lately. This one was to focus on head angles, so whilst at a new location I spotted this Double-barred finch...quite common at certain times of the year. Of course, I was also aiming for composition etc etc. I would have liked a better shooting angle though.
    exif: 1/640th sec, f5.6, iso640, 400mm in AV mode hand-held, late afternoon.
    Cheers.

Head angle is good Paul but wish for the bird to be closest to us on the perch. Not so crazy bout the bird being intersected by the perch. Also, whites under chin and breast look hot. BG is sweet thats for sure, please list your shooting specs/info TFS

Very neat looking bird. The pose and head angle are spot on. Front of the bird lacks detail. Nice and sharp.

Hi Ann. Thanks for the feedback. I did put exif down, but when I edited my post I must have erased it? Anyhow I agree with the hot whites...I did reduce it but yes, it's still hot. Didn't consider the perch intersection...thanks for that.

John. Cheers. I might look at the raw file again and see if I can get some details back.
