I created this image a few years back at a large breeding colony on the Zambezi River in the Caprivi region of Namibia. The backdrop is the sand along the river shoreline in the late afternoon sun. About 50% crop. Processed in LR and PS CC.

What a beautiful capture Chris...Beautiful colours on bird and BG. IQ is pretty good considering it was shot at ISO 3600. I also like your chosen crop. Nice image very pleasing to the eye.

Spectacular capture of these speedsters, Chris. Sun angle is perfect for those feathers. Beautiful background.

Wow... A bit of noise on the bird understandably with your settings, but really nice BG,
    pose and sharpness.

Absolutely nailed that one Chris - beautiful light and a great pose - even a the head angle is spot on. Now go and repeat it with a D850!!

Nice work, Chris. Beautiful bird, nicely shown. The colors are so unique, also the tail feathers. Thank you for sharing.

Really good capture, and the background color works really well.
