I like the sky and I like the habitat left at the bottom.
I think some off the right side would look good.
As far as IQ, Again the sky and the sky color looks great.
Bird looks a bit crunchy.
No idea on what you used except it looks like a short lens...

Oh boy Artie, I'm not good at this at all but thought my 2 cents would be the following: pelican lacks detail, too small in the frame for me to judge further... colors/feathers look muddied without definition... Pouch, head, various feathers look shaded but not detailed. Shadowed, underbelly looks dark... My guess and a guess it is would be a short lens maybe 2x's extender and Sony... Not appealing IQ IMHO! I do like the varied sky colors!

I like the composition, pose and hint of trees at the bottom. I too feel the IQ is lacking on this image. I have no idea what camera or lens you were using at the time of capture.

Light looks nice and a interesting pose. Suprised you didn't remover the green at the bottom. Why is the text in this so transparent?

I like the shooting angle in this one. I also like the soft light but why so small in the frame??? I don't think the tree tops add much , the pelican is small and is not showing any details, it looks crunchy and sharpened too much. Also wish the far wing hand't merged with the head.

I have no idea what gear you were using.
I must admit this is not up to your usual standards . Pelican looks quite crunchy and lacks good detail.

John, The text looks transparent to you because I am using the Captain James Mark II -- Side theme where everything is black and the type is grey

Arash, the bird is small in the frame because it was far away :)

I would just be guessing in the dark if I went into the gear as I never used a Nikon or a Sony.
As for the image I'm a bit sceptical. I don't mind the shooting angle as the sky is quite beautiful and has some interesting, but subtle, elements of a dark cloud and a turquise sky. Although the colors seem a bit off overall and the bird haven't got much detail to talk about.
I also agree that the trees doesn't add much and the bird is to small in frame but without the IQ it is not much to do. The BG looks a bit grainy too.

I agree with everyone about the IQ but the High ISO and then the noise reduction might be part of the IQ problem? Larger crop too?

High ISO is not a problem in light like this, I could take this at ISO 10,000 and no one would be able to tell.
