    Default Little Blue and Pink

I saw these flowers at Harns Marsh and knew that if I was patient I would get something. Sure enough, a tricolor and little blue came along.

I did not sharpen the JPEG -looked oversharpened even with small amount of sharpening.

I think there is a bit too much yellow in the greens but it may have been true to life.
The pinks are real bonus, can see why you waited.
The bird is pretty phenomenal. Really nice detail, excellent DOF since you were so close.
The detail in the feathers in the curves in the neck top and bottom are excellent and really focus my eye.
Sharpening looks about perfect for viewing here.

I like the curve of the neck, HA, setting, composition and OOF pink flowers compliment the neck well. I find the coarse feathers on birds like these can easily get that over sharpened look and but here they look perfect. Excellent as always Gail!

Hi Gail: Really like the pose, sharpness, HA and FFD on this one. The BG is great with the pink diffused flowers.

nice head shot, it shows a bit of magenta cast on my monitor and a bit too bright

Dan- I think you are correct re: the yellows and here is a repost with the yellows toned down.
Arash- the birds plumage on the head and neck does indeed have a magenta color in real life. I thik that by toning down the yellows the bright background is less bright.
    Thanks for the advice guys.

Yes Gail second repost is better but not much wrong with the first one. Pinks are different and great.I do like the curve in the neck. Great capture and love the story.

Both look great Gail with the RP a slight improvement. The BG is excellent. Nice details as well. TFS

Pretty shot Gail. Love the background. Repost is certainly an improvement as the original was too bright and yellow. Colors look good to me as these birds have a purplish head and a more slatey blue body. But I think the bird could use a bit more sharpening or detail extractor, specifically on the back and wings which should bring out the fine details just a bit more.

Very nice, what lovely colours. Lovely pose and the bird stands out well against the nice BG.
